Objective:

The primary goal of the Outdoor Behavioural Training (OBT) sessions was to provide participants with immersive experiences through various outdoor management games and facilitated activities. These sessions were designed to focus on critical areas such as self-awareness, leadership skills, team dynamics, effective communication, and personal development, which are essential for shaping the right attitude and competencies for success in their careers during their time at college.

Areas Addressed:

The OBT experience addressed the following key areas:

  • 1. The importance of focusing on self-development to cultivate the right attitude and competencies for future career success.
  • 2. Enhancing effective communication skills.
  • Promoting love, respect, and discipline both within families and at college.
  • 3. Developing patience and perseverance.
  • 4. Fostering leadership skills and teamwork.
Observations:

The participants exhibited high energy and active involvement throughout all activities. They not only engaged fully in the exercises but also contributed by sharing reflections, learnings, and opinions during the debriefing and facilitation sessions. This reflective approach helped deepen their understanding and personal growth.

Session Breakdown:

The OBT sessions were conducted for three separate MBA batches, with each session designed to include ice-breaking activities, energizing games, team-building exercises, and major activities aimed at honing leadership and teamwork skills.

Sona MBA Batch 1:

Total Students: 29 (16 boys + 13 girls)

  • Ice-breaking Activities: Signature Gesture, Balloon Busting, Politics, Grouping (Animal Sounds)
  • Energizing Games: Pick up the Cup, Turn Around and Count the Numbers
  • Team Activities: Ball Passing, Box Filling with Rope, Mummies, Mega Activity - Footloose
  • Additional Team Games: Sculpture, Bomb Defusal, Flip the Blanket
  • Closing Activities: Alphabet Chain, Debriefing, and Closure
Sona MBA Batch 2:

Date: 05-02-2025 (Wednesday)

Venue: SONA VT Towers, Yercaud

Total Students: 24 (15 boys + 9 girls)

Activities Conducted:
  • Ice-breaking Activities: Signature Gesture, Fall in Line, Choice of Liking, Follow Me, Politics, Grouping (Animal Sounds)
  • Energizing Games: Pick up the Cup, Turn Around and Count the Numbers
  • Team Activities: Number Display, Hunter Game, Performance (Skit and Individual), Going from Position A to B to Challenge, Say 25
  • Mega Activity: Footloose
  • Additional Team Building Activities: Magic Rope, Bomb Defusal
  • Closing Activities: Alphabet Chain, Debriefing, and Closure
Sona MBA Batch 3:

Date: 07-02-2025 (Friday)

Total Students: 34 (20 boys + 14 girls)

Conclusion:

The OBT sessions proved to be an enriching experience for all participants, contributing to the development of both their personal and professional skills. The combination of challenging activities, group dynamics, and reflective debriefing enabled the students to better understand themselves, enhance their leadership potential, and improve their team-playing abilities.
